Daniel Edney, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Edney received his undergraduate degree from William Carey University, master’s degree from the University of Mississippi’s School of Medicine and holds a Medical Degree with residency in Internal Medicine from the University of Virginia. Dr. Edney began working in Internal Medicine in 1991 and Addiction Recovery in 2013. He holds a board certification in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine, a board certification in Addiction Medicine from the American Board of Preventative Medicine and sits on the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure. Dr. Edney is also the Chief Medical Officer for the Mississippi State Department of Health and the regional health officer for the Central Public Health Region.
Dr. Edney felt called to be a physician at the age of 16 due in large part to his experiences with doctors and nurses during the illness and passing of his father at a young age. Seeing how important the medical team’s work was and how it truly impacted the lives of others encouraged him to start on the path of becoming a physician. Dr. Edney is inspired by those who are able to overcome great adversity and achieve sustained lifelong recovery. He considers lives transformed and families restored to be a great blessing in his life. Dr. Edney is passionate about working on the front lines of the current addiction epidemic in both treating those who are sick and educating healthcare professionals and others on what the disease really is. Having had an adolescent child of his own struggle with substance abuse, Dr. Edney knows the importance, as well as the uniqueness, of this field of medicine.

Brian M. Wind, PhD
Director of Clinical Strategy
Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Wind earned his Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Virginia, Master of Clinical Psychology at Middle Tennessee State University and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University in Palo Alto, California. Additionally, Dr. Wind completed post-doctoral training in the fields of Sleep Disorders and Behavioral Medicine and served as the Director of Clinical Sleep Medicine at a large interdisciplinary sleep disorders practice. Dr. Wind holds a board certification in Behavioral Sleep Medicine from the American Board of Sleep Medicine and is a contracted speaker in the neuroscience/insomnia division of Merck and Company Pharmaceuticals. Since the beginning of his career, Dr. Wind has also specialized in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of substance use disorders.
In 2014, Dr. Wind launched NOVOS Behavioral Health Solutions, LLC, a clinical consulting company with an emphasis on the treatment of substance use disorders and the three “pillars of health” – sleep, nutrition, and exercise. In this position, Dr. Wind served as a clinical consultant with multiple healthcare facilities and developed innovative healthcare-related software applications. In line with this approach, Dr. Wind has served as co-chair of the American Psychological Association’s Advisory Committee on Colleague Assistance with an emphasis on furthering the national movement of professional wellness. He currently holds the position of Executive Director of the Tennessee Colleague Assistance Foundation, Tennessee’s state-contracted peer support program for mental healthcare providers, in addition to serving as an adjunct faculty member in Vanderbilt University’s Department of Psychology. Dr. Wind is also Chief of Clinical Operations for JourneyPure.
Dr. Wind is passionate about helping others pursue recovery and committed to incorporating innovations in wellness and technology to effectively reach adolescents in treatment. In his spare time, Dr. Wind enjoys spending time with his son, playing golf, reading, music, and traveling.

Jeff Noles, LAC, LPC, CTT, CCS, CSAT
Clinical Director
Jeff Noles earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Louisiana Tech University and his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Jeff became a Licensed Addiction Counselor in 2011 and a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2018. He is also a Certified Trauma Therapist. Additionally, Jeff became a Certified Clinical Supervisor in 2022.
Jeff utilizes Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Jeff believes his client’s best chance of sustained healing is the result of a systemic change. He works closely with families to help see what their roles in their loved one’s recovery will be.
Having been sober since July, 2006 Jeff has worked with the addicted population in residential settings for the last 15 years in the hopes of giving to others what was given to him.
Jeff is married to his wife Kayt and they have two boys, Anders and Arlo. He loves watching sports of all kinds and is a lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings.

Nakesha Fleming, LMSW, BC-TMH,
C-MHC
Clinical Therapist
Nakesha Fleming has a Master’s of Social Work with clinical emphasis from the University of Mississippi and a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Mississippi State University. Her professional experience began as a discharge planner at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS before moving into a role as a family protection specialist for Child Protective Services. She has also worked in Hospice and as an addiction therapist. Most recently, Nakesha worked as a staff counselor at Mississippi State University.
While looking for an opportunity to serve clients with compassion, she came across Stonewater and finds joy and purpose in seeing residents progress from challenging times to the freedom of recovery. In addition to her work at Stonewater, Nakesha speaks at social work trainings on the topics of diversity and inclusion and works with clergy to help them better serve the mental health needs of their parishioners. Outside of work, Nakesha enjoys traveling with her family, reading, listening to music and spending time with her children.

Corey Latta, PhD
Family Recovery Support Coach
Dr. Corey Latta holds a Bachelor of Biblical Studies, Master of Counseling, New Testament Studies and English, as well as a PhD in English. He is a talented speaker, teacher, writer and counselor, and the author of four books on various subjects related to these studies. Dr. Latta focuses on narrative and creative therapy as well as the power of the imagination to heal trauma and help find a life of purpose and meaning. Dr. Latta is also a skilled and experienced psychodrama therapist.
Dr. Latta joined the Stonewater team because he is passionate and committed to seeing young people and their families find healing and renewed purpose. From his own experience, he knows that teenage years can be turbulent, and he hopes to help young people see themselves in the light of who they really are and what they can become. Dr. Latta loves to write, read, stay active and, more than anything, spend time with his four children.

Sam Pryor
Adventure Therapist
Sam Pryor received his Bachelor of Parks and Recreation Management from the University of Mississippi. He is also a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional and Certified Playground Safety Inspector from the National Recreation and Parks Association. With over 16 years of experience in the field of Parks and Recreation and 10 years focused on Nature Centered Programming, Sam is thrilled to share his love of nature with our residents and see their excitement when discovering something for the first time. He aims to be a driving force for nature and to bring it to those who will share it with future generations. In Sam’s free time, he takes care of his farm, from caring for the free range animals to surveying the land and vegetation. He also enjoys playing pickleball, golfing and traveling with his wife and kids.

Scott Wilson
Pet Therapist
Scott Wilson studied Biology and Chemistry at Gettysburg College followed by Structural Chemistry at the University of North Carolina. He worked three decades as Director of Materials Chemistry at the University of Illinois before retiring and immediately acquiring his first hunting and fishing licenses since high school. Anxious to find the perfect canine companions for numerous upcoming adventures, Scott and his wife, Roxy, researched breeds and kennels nationwide for six months. They selected their first Wildrose pup, Cora, in 2013 and their second Wildrose pup, Suzy, in 2015. Scott then adopted Widgeon, who took to his retirement career as a therapy dog and earned his American Kennel Club Therapy Dog (AKC THD) in less than a year. After two years volunteering with Widgeon Service Companions as a therapy team, Scott is now a licensed Pet Partners therapy team evaluator. Scott enjoys trekking, training, hunting and fishing with his Wildrose companions in his free time.

Eden Flora
Art Therapist
Eden Flora holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Georgia and a Master of Professional Studies in Art Therapy and Creativity Development from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. She is a Registered Art Therapist and has offered art therapy in a variety of settings for the past 12 years. Eden loves helping individuals use creativity to grow and learn about themselves. In addition to working as an Art Therapist, Eden runs her own small business as an artist selling her work through her website. Eden likes to spend time with her husband and two sons painting, reading and exercising in her free time.

Stevi Self
Yoga Therapist
Stevi Self is a Registered Yoga Teacher (500 E-RYT) and Certified Yoga Therapist (CYT) with a Bachelor of Independent Studies. She has been teaching yoga since 1998 and has special training in yoga therapy and Yoga for Recovery. Stevi has experienced the healing benefit of yoga in her own life and loves to share that with others who are navigating challenges in their own lives. In her spare time, Stevi enjoys gardening, being outdoors, baking and traveling internationally.

PJ Mexner
Human Resources Manager and Resident Services Advisor
PJ attended the University of Florida to pursue a legal career but soon realized she had an affinity for all things technology. She quickly escalated through the Information Systems ranks to become a Junior Technician, Information Supervisor, and then MIS Site Manager over three properties. Deciding to return to her legal interests, PJ then perfected her administration skills by spending 13 years as an office administrator at a national law firm. It was at this time that PJ let God “take the wheel” and remained still and steadfast in her belief that He would lead her to a place where her unique set of skills and “weirdness” would be wholeheartedly welcomed. That place is Stonewater. PJ is a master multi-tasker, mother of three, and grandmother of three known as “Gammi,” living each day with an open mind and an eagerness to help others.

Amanda Scales
Administrative Assistant
Amanda Scales began her professional career at Stonewater after finishing college and is a vital member of the Stonewater team. Supporting the daily operations of our campus, Amanda interacts with clients, families, and numerous partner organizations . When not at work, Amanda enjoys doing yoga, pilates, playing video games, and spending time with her family.

Daniel Farmer
HeadmasterDaniel Farmer received his Bachelor of Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi, with concentrations in Mathematics and Social Studies. Throughout his time as an educator, Daniel has had the opportunity to work with students of all ages suffering from a wide array of mental health disorders. With over nine years of classroom experience, Daniel is excited to be part of the Stonewater team where he can combine his diverse skills as an educator with his personal experience in recovery.

Tom McArdle
Utilization Management ManagerTom McArdle has been working in behavioral health since 2004 when he began managing a group home for developmentally disabled adults and discovered his love for helping others. In 2011, Tom started working in the substance abuse treatment field in a direct care role where he later transitioned into utilization management. Tom loves the opportunity to advocate for the needs of Stonewater families, giving them a chance at the longest length of stay possible, and ultimately paving the way for positive change in their trajectory. In his spare time, Tom likes to stay active and be outdoors as much as possible. He loves to work out, play basketball, go to the beach, hang out in the park, read, write or binge watch a good show! Tom also tries to visit his family in New Jersey as often as possible.

Charles Twilley
Program Manager
Charles Twilley has a Bachelor of Human Science from the University of Central Arkansas. Previous to his time at Stonewater, he worked three years in Arkansas as a Case Manager and Evening Supervisor, supporting and encouraging recovering individuals who live with symptoms of mental illness. Charles volunteers as a youth baseball coach in the spring and summer months. He is also a devoted father and husband to his wife and three children.

Shauna Johnson
Nursing Manager
Shauna Johnson is the Nursing Manager with six years of experience in the field. Being of service to the recovery community is a deep-seated value for Shauna. She is passionate about attending NA meetings and, in addition to helping adolescents, aiding other women in recovery. Shauna also treasures spending time with her husband, daughter and two Australian shepherds!

Michael Clark
Executive Chef
Michael Clark has his Food Service Management Certification and ServSafe Certification. He has worked 15 years in operations, food service management and customer service before joining the Stonewater team. Although he doesn’t have one favorite dish to cook, Michael says his speciality is serving people and loving to see people eat! Favorite dishes at Stonewater are unsurprisingly Shrimp Alfredo and BBQ Chicken Bacon Pizza. In Michael’s spare time, he supports children at church and enjoys fishing, ATV riding, family time and playing basketball with his daughter.

Sean Wells, RCP
Alumni Coordinator
Sean Wells has a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and previously worked as a peer support specialist for Communicare and as a logistics supervisor for Harbor Freight. He was introduced to Stonewater when he met residents at a local 12-Step meeting. As he learned more about the program, he knew his professional path was destined for Stonewater. Watching the residents uplift and hold one another accountable is one of the most rewarding aspects of his job. During his free time Sean enjoys staying active in recovery, playing video games, skating, disc golf, live music and spending time with his girlfriend.

Bridget Norris
Admissions Coordinator
Bridget Norris joined the Stonewater team as Admissions Coordinator with over 20 years of experience in human resources and business development. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University and a Master of Science and Administration from Central Michigan University. Bridget was led to help transform lives by working at Stonewater after both she and her son experienced their own journeys to recovery. She remains an avid participant in the larger recovery community as a board member, group leader, and outreach partner for multiple organizations that have been part of her family’s healing path. When she’s not working or volunteering, Bridget and her family enjoy spending time at their cabin in Northern Michigan.

Kyle Pillans
National Outreach Manager
Kyle comes to Stonewater with two decades of experience in helping families find recovery. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Studies from the University of North Texas and has acted as a children’s counselor, community advocate, treatment center founder, operational leader, program developer, and more since 2004. Her personal knowledge of the impact that mental health and substance use issues can have on a family system has driven her dedication to a career that provides hope, growth, and change for every individual in the family. She loves being part of a team that provides clinically sophisticated and innovative treatment while maintaining a tight-knit, encouraging community. Kyle spends time outside of work teaching families how to talk to their school-age children about addiction. In her spare time, she can be found staying active and sharing hobbies like hiking, yoga, and hands-on projects with her two daughters and three dogs.

Paige Sims
Lead Clinical Assistant
Paige Sims has a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Mississippi. While attending university, she spent two and a half years working in a social psychology research lab with a focus on interpersonal relationships and personal well-being. After graduating, Paige wanted to work with adolescents, and when she set foot on Stonewater’s campus, she knew it was the right place for her. She recognizes the privilege of growing alongside such a supportive and talented team as well as building meaningful relationships with Stonewater residents. In her spare time, Paige likes being outdoors in any capacity, whether taking a stroll, having a picnic in the park or lounging in a hammock.

Merrill Overbey
Licensed Practical Nurse
A native of Houston, Texas, Merrill has a diverse background in medicine as well as the arts. After graduating from art school, she began pursuing a degree in Film Production. Soon, her passion for caregiving brought her back to Mississippi where she received her License in Practical Nursing. Her compassion for others extends to the four-legged, as she is also an avid foster parent for local animal shelters.

Callie Keeler

After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Russian from the University of Mississippi, Callie Keeler came to Stonewater with the desire “to help anyone she could in the ways that she could.” Working with our clinical team allows Callie to see firsthand the way that the Stonewater program can instill lasting change in young men. In her spare time, Callie enjoys working out, spending time with friends, and tackling creative projects like crochet.

Jekevin Street
Clinical Assistant
Jekevin Street worked for more than three years as a mental health tech at Panola Medical Center in Batesville, Mississippi. After building a strong foundation of working with adults, Jekevin was eager to be involved in helping adolescents. As a member of the Stonewater direct care team, he has the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of adolescents at a crucial juncture in their lives. Outside of work, Jekevin enjoys playing video games and tinkering with technology.

Houston Murphy

Houston Murphy joined the Stonewater team to make a difference in people’s lives in the same way that others have made a difference in his. He attended North Point Christian School and holds a Bachelor’s of Psychology from Mississippi State University. As Clinical Assistant, Houston is dedicated to providing compassionate care that makes each Stonewater family feel seen and understood. When he’s not at work, you can usually find Houston at the movie theater or rewatching a favorite film at home.

Jacoby McCaskill
Clinical Assistant
Jacoby McCaskill brings a unique blend of experience to his role at Stonewater. Prior to joining the team, he worked directly with local youth as a tutor with the Upward Bound II program at Mississippi Valley State. Upon learning about Stonewater through a friend, Jacoby believed it would be an ideal environment to apply and expand his skills while continuing to positively impact the wellbeing of young men. Jacoby says he has since come to value the family-like atmosphere and the organization's unwavering commitment to excellence across all departments.
When not focused on his professional goals, Jacoby maintains an active lifestyle through his two greatest sporting passions: basketball and boxing, both of which he considers essential outlets for maintaining work-life balance.

Elizabeth Fikes
Founder/Director of Outreach and Communications
Elizabeth Fikes helped found Stonewater after nearly 10 years in international branding and business development for one of the largest US housewares companies, managing brand launches and market growth in South America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In addition to her roles in referral outreach, resident admissions, marketing and communications, Elizabeth has extensive knowledge of managed care policies and is actively involved in the Stonewater family and alumni programs to ensure meaningful, sustained engagement. When her brother Bryan began struggling with substance use at an early age, Elizabeth learned firsthand what it was like to see a sibling change in the throes of substance use and face the necessity of long-term treatment. Understanding that these behaviors affect not only the adolescent but the entire family, Elizabeth became passionate about sharing her family’s experience with other families at the crossroads of seeking treatment for their child.

Bryan Fikes
Founder/CEO
Bryan Fikes graduated from the University of Mississippi, where he earned his Bachelor of Accounting from the Patterson School of Accountancy. He is a strategic leader with a track record of successfully executing tactical business plans and organizational initiatives. Bryan is passionate about the importance and development of company culture, strategic planning and analytics. At the age of 16, Bryan acknowledged his issues with substance use and experienced firsthand the challenges an adolescent faces when learning to overcome a substance use disorder. With this experience came the passion for helping other young men identify their own struggles and to provide a place where they can receive a comprehensive and individualized treatment program to achieve lifelong recovery. Bryan was named one of Mississippi's top CEOs in 2024, serves as Chairman of the Board for Intended for Good: Stonewater Council for Youth, and is an active member of Goose Creek Tennis Club, Oxford Park Commission and Country Club of Oxford. He is a member of the Emerging Leaders Fellowship of Christian Athletes Board and volunteers his time in various roles as a part of the congregation at Pinelake Church. Bryan’s achievements and dedication to his community have also seen him named as one of Oxford’s 40 Under 40. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, golf, pickleball and spending time with his wife Corinne and their three sons Lomax, Bouldin and Theodore.
