How God Reminds Us to Have More Faith Than Fear

It is not impossible to live in faith and fear at the same time. We can have faith in God, God's plan for us, and God's plan for the world but still struggle with our very human fears. Our fears are our insecurities, which, at their core, can always be traced back to a core fear and suspicion of God. God specifically gave us free will. There is little shock or disappointment when we begin to doubt God, get angry at God, or stop believing God is real. Despite our human shortcomings, God loves us, works all things in our life for good, and promises us faith as soon as we return to Him. When life gets difficult, too difficult to bear, we tend to forget a few key facts about God's relationship with us like the fact that God never gives us more than we can handle. We may certainly feel at our absolute maximum. Often it is said, God's strongest warriors are His greatest angels. Rather than feel used and slighted, we focus on feeling chosen, loved, and believed in. Even in his final moments upon the cross, the Lord Jesus Christ exclaimed to His father, Why have you forsaken me? lamenting in the pain and anguish his devoted faith in God has brought him. He begged to be released, to be saved, to take a different path. God did not respond. Within the matter of an instant, Jesus overcame his fear with his deep faith. Days later he was risen and defeated death. No matter the state of our faith in God, His faith in us is unwavering. God is kind and understanding toward our weaknesses, Got Questions explains about the Bible's take on faith versus fear, but He requires us to go forward in faith, and the Bible is clear that faith does not mature and strengthen without trials. Adversity is God's most effective tool to develop a strong faith. Psalm 118:6 tells us not to be afraid because The Lord is with us. What could man do to us that God could not heal? Surely God is my salvation, it is written in Isaiah 12. I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, The Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. Our faith in God is our freedom from fear, if only we continue to seek it. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, Romans 8:15 asserts, but you received the Spirit of sonship. In our holy Father we can always have faith and in His faith in us we can have faith in ourselves.
